Privacy Policy

This site does not use cookies, does not run analytics, and does not ask you for personal information. This page explains the little that is collected anyway, and what happens to it.

Effective August 25, 2026 · Version 1.0

1. Who this covers

This policy applies to canyoncontrols.com and its subpages (the “Site”), operated by Canyon Controls (“Canyon Controls,” “we,” “us”). It does not cover the Canyon app, physical products, or third-party sites we link to.

Canyon Controls products are specified, sold and installed through distributors, representatives and electrical contractors. Most of the personal information involved in a project is held by those parties under their own policies, not by us.

2. What we collect

We do not ask you to create an account, fill in a form, or identify yourself in order to use this Site. There is no sign-up, no newsletter capture, and no lead-generation form.

Two things are recorded automatically, as they are on essentially every website:

  • Web server logs. Our hosting provider records the IP address, date and time, requested URL, HTTP status, referring page and browser user-agent string for each request. These logs exist for security, abuse prevention and diagnosing faults.
  • Network security logs. The Site is delivered through a content delivery network and security proxy, which keeps comparable connection records in order to filter malicious traffic and serve pages quickly.

We do not combine these records with anything else, do not use them to build a profile of you, and do not sell or share them for advertising.

3. The configurator

The system configurator runs entirely in your browser. The room counts, zone layouts and product selections you enter are held in your device’s memory while you use the page and are discarded when you close or reload it. Nothing you enter is transmitted to Canyon Controls, and nothing is written to persistent storage on your device.

If you choose to send us a configuration, that happens by opening a message in your own email program. At that point the ordinary email disclosure in section 5 applies.

4. Cookies and tracking

This Site sets no cookies of its own, uses no local or session storage, and contains no analytics, advertising, remarketing, social-media or session-recording scripts. There is no cross-site tracking to opt out of, and consequently no cookie banner.

Our security proxy may set a strictly necessary cookie to identify traffic it has already screened. It carries no advertising identifier and is not used to profile visitors.

Because we do not track visitors across sites, we treat a browser “Do Not Track” or Global Privacy Control signal as already satisfied.

5. When you contact us

If you email or call us, we receive whatever you choose to include — typically your name, company, contact details and the details of your project. We use that information to answer you, to prepare a quotation or specification, and to keep a record of the exchange. We do not add you to a marketing list on the strength of a technical enquiry.

Email is not a secure medium. Please do not send confidential drawings, credentials, or sensitive personal information by unencrypted email.

6. Service providers

We rely on a small number of vendors who process data on our behalf under contract, and only on our instructions:

  • a web hosting provider, which stores the Site and its access logs;
  • a content delivery and security network, which delivers pages and filters malicious traffic;
  • an email provider, which carries correspondence sent to our published addresses.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. We disclose information otherwise only where we are legally required to, or where it is necessary to establish or defend a legal claim.

7. How long we keep it

Server and security logs are retained for a short operational period — generally no more than twelve months — and then deleted or aggregated. Correspondence is kept for as long as the related project or business relationship is active, and afterwards for the period we need it for warranty, tax and legal recordkeeping.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to obtain a copy of it, to limit how we use it, and not to be treated differently for asking. Residents of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia and other states with comparable statutes, and individuals in the United Kingdom and European Economic Area, have rights along these lines.

To exercise any of them, write to info@canyoncontrols.com. We will respond within the time your law allows, and within 45 days at the outside. We may need to ask a question or two to confirm who you are before we act. If we decline a request, we will tell you why and how to appeal.

In practice, because we hold so little, a request about this Site will usually resolve to server log entries and any email you have sent us.

9. Children

This Site is a business-to-business resource for architects, engineers, contractors and distributors. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Changes

If this policy changes we will post the revised version here and update the effective date at the top of the page. Material changes will be noted on the page for a reasonable period. Continuing to use the Site after a change means you accept the revised policy.
